Director, Compensation & Benefits
About The Role
McAfee is seeking a Director, Global Compensation & Benefits to join our Global Total Rewards team. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Total Rewards, this role will provide strategic leadership across global equity, job architecture, compensation, and benefits. A key focus of the role will be the design, administration, and evolution of McAfee's equity programs. This leader will bring deep equity expertise, including experience with both private and public company equity structures and practices, and will help ensure McAfee's programs remain competitive, scalable, and aligned with the company's business and talent strategy. The Director will also play a critical role in advancing McAfee's global job architecture and compensation framework, including job leveling, career structures, market benchmarking, and pay practices. In addition, the role will oversee broader global compensation and benefits programs and partner closely with the Vice President, Total Rewards, senior leaders, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition to reinforce a strong pay-for-performance culture and an effective, well-governed Total Rewards strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, administration, and ongoing evolution of McAfee's global compensation programs, including base pay, salary structures, annual incentives, and other compensation programs. Partner closely with the Vice President, Total Rewards to ensure programs are competitive, scalable, aligned with business priorities, and reinforce McAfee's pay-for-performance culture.
- Serve as a key subject matter expert for McAfee's equity programs, with responsibility for supporting program design, administration, governance, modeling, and communication. Bring deep experience with both private and public company equity programs, including an understanding of how equity strategy, plan design, valuation, dilution, and governance considerations evolve as companies transition between ownership structures.
- Lead and continue to evolve McAfee's global job architecture, including job families, levels, job evaluation methodologies, career frameworks, and alignment to salary structures. Partner across HR and the business to establish consistent approaches to job leveling and career progression that support organizational design, internal mobility, market competitiveness, and internal equity.
- Lead global market pricing, benchmarking, and competitive analysis across functions, levels, and geographies. Translate market data and internal analytics into actionable recommendations regarding pay positioning, salary structures, compensation practices, and program design.
- Lead, develop, and empower a team of compensation and benefits professionals while building the capabilities needed to support McAfee's evolving Total Rewards strategy.
- Lead the administration and ongoing evolution of McAfee's global benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement, wellness, and other employee offerings. Evaluate programs for competitiveness, employee value, cost effectiveness, and alignment with McAfee's broader Total Rewards strategy.
- Lead the execution of McAfee's annual compensation processes, including merit, bonus, promotion, and equity planning. Partner with the Vice President, Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Finance, and other stakeholders on budgeting, modeling, implementation, and communication.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and senior business leaders on compensation and benefits matters, including strategic hiring, retention, promotions, job leveling, organizational changes, and other complex talent decisions.
- Maintain strong governance across compensation, equity, and benefits programs and ensure compliance with applicable global regulatory requirements. Support McAfee's approach to pay transparency, pay equity, and consistent application of Total Rewards policies and programs globally.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and other key stakeholders to ensure compensation, equity, job architecture, and benefits programs are effectively designed, governed, and implemented.
- Lead, coach, and develop the global compensation and benefits teams, strengthening technical capabilities, operational discipline, accountability, and partnership across the organization.
- Evaluate Total Rewards programs and processes using market trends, internal data, employee insights, and business needs. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve operational effectiveness, strengthen employee understanding, and enhance McAfee's overall Total Rewards offering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) with 10+ years of experience in global compensation and benefits management, including at least 5 years in a senior or director-level role.
- Extensive experience designing and managing performance-driven compensation structures, global benefits programs, and executive compensation.
- Deep knowledge of global compensation and benefits practices, with proven experience leading both compensation and benefits programs across multiple regions. Understanding of how compensation and benefits can drive organizational performance, employee engagement, and retention.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and performance accountability. Proven experience in driving a performance-focused culture through strategic compensation and benefits planning.
- Expertise in HRIS systems (Workday, Oracle, SAP, or similar), with a focus on compensation and benefits data management, reporting, and employee communication.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align compensation and benefits strategies to McAfee's broader business goals. Demonstrated success in designing programs that drive both individual and organizational performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and stakeholders on compensation and benefits strategies. Proven track record of delivering clear, impactful communications to employees about compensation and benefits programs.
- High level of discretion in managing sensitive compensation and benefits information, maintaining trust and confidentiality across the organization.

- Pay Range: USD $141,680.00/Yr. - USD $232,800.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications
