About the role

The Director, C&E Consulting, will lead employee communication projects for EPIC's national Communication and Engagement (C&E) practice, providing leadership, coaching, and oversight for a team of consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant for employee-facing benefits communications, from strategy development to delivery, including project and internal collaboration with C&E colleagues, EPIC account teams and clients on content development, graphic design and project management.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of C&E consultants, including providing guidance on client strategy, deliverables, prioritization, quality standards and professional development.
  • Oversee consultant workload, project assignments and team workflows to ensure client commitments are delivered on time, with quality, accuracy and consistency across the C&E practice.
  • Create compelling employee benefits communications that are easily understood and delivered across a multitude of channels (for example: digital, print, and face-to-face) to maximize employee engagement and to facilitate required action.
  • Ensure all content is written and edited to the highest standards, optimized for the channel distribution and provides a great user experience.
  • Establish team priorities, manage multiple projects and create scalable workflows to ensure all projects are delivered with quality, accuracy and consistent client service.
  • Oversee, as necessary, support from third-party service providers that contribute to the development and delivery of print, digital and online communications.
  • Participate, as necessary, in new business development efforts, partnering with C&E leadership and EPIC Employee Benefits account teams, and support consultants in preparing for client and prospect discussions.
  • Lead team interviewing, new hire onboarding, training, mentoring and ongoing capability-building for C&E consultants.

Requirements

  • Extremely organized, self-starter and natural storyteller with the ability to translate complex ideas into easily digestible content.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, prioritize work, provide feedback and build consultant capability across the team.
  • Strategic consulting mindset with the ability to guide team members through complex client needs, competing priorities and high-visibility deliverables.
  • Project management mindset that likes to keep things structured and on task.
  • Able to communicate effectively in written and oral communications.
  • Able to handle multiple client priorities with strong attention to detail while seamlessly able to switch between projects and clients.
  • Able to work under pressure and under deadlines with limited timeframes.
  • Flexible, strategic, collaborative and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage time effectively and enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in creative writing and producing compelling content, benefits content a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Teams).
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently with limited oversight while providing direction, accountability and support to others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications or equivalent experience.
  • Employee benefits or healthcare industry experience a plus.
  • Client management experience.
  • Experience leading, managing, mentoring or developing consultants or project-based teams preferred.
  • 10+ years combined benefits and communications experience, including demonstrated experience leading client work and/or consulting teams.
