About the role
The Director, Communications at MB US is a strategic thought leader and advisor to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for advancing the priorities and objectives of the business and shaping the narratives that reach key audiences.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the US SLT and corporate functions to develop and execute strategies that connect the workforce and align messages to drive results and business objectives.
- Act as strategic communications advisor to the US SLT - translating priorities into internal and external communications plans that can be executed across the organization and to customers.
- Own the full MB US communications channel portfolio - internal (intranet, employee app, email/newsletters, etc.) and external (US website, LinkedIn, and industry engagement) strategy and content standards across each.
- Define communications strategy, standards, and governance.
- Manage the annual MB US communications editorial calendar, aligning content, campaigns, and events to business priorities and MB Corporate calendar.
- Own communications budget and manage external vendors.
- Own the communications analytics function - defining KPIs, building reporting dashboards, tracking channel performance and audience engagement across all internal and external channels, and translating data into actionable recommendations for the SLT and communications roadmap.
- Upskill functional leaders to deliver clear, compelling, and impactful narratives.
- Build and scale team capabilities, tools, and playbooks.
- Lead the department’s AI strategy - identifying, piloting, and scaling AI tools and platforms that create efficiencies in content creation, channel management, analytics, and audience targeting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- 10+ years of communications experience, with 5+ years of management experience.
- Experience across digital, internal, and external communication channels.
- A high-energy, high-integrity leader who can quickly take control of responsibilities and establish credibility as a strategic business partner.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and scale a communications team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex stakeholder groups simultaneously, navigating competing priorities, building alignment across functions, and operating effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, impactful messaging.
- Creative problem-solving and audience-focused communication.
- Data fluency — ability to build and interpret communications analytics across both internal and external channels.
- Familiarity with AI-powered communications tools and demonstrated ability to evaluate and adopt new technology.

Pay
Compensation is competitive and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This position requires in-office attendance in Rosemont, IL, Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays.
