About the role

The Director, CERIS Operations provides leadership, strategic planning, operational management, and implementation of standards and continuous improvements across non-review business operations. This role leads operational performance across non-clinical functions, ensuring compliance with established operating standards, process and product enhancements, and effective workforce and production planning. The Director works closely with the Director of Audit Services and the Director of Policy and Payment Integrity to support and exceed annual objectives and long-term growth strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence across non-clinical business functions, focusing on:
    • Delivering client value and enhancing client experience
    • Standardization of processes
    • Scalability of operations
    • Operational effectiveness
    • Operational efficiency
  • Lead and implement strategic initiatives and operational improvements across CERIS
  • Provide direct oversight and accountability for non-clinical operational departments
  • Oversee Set-Up, Procurement, Data Capture, RCM, Closing, and other functions within scope
  • Actively participate in company meetings, calls, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Lead by example while providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members and direct reports
  • Foster and promote the CorVel and CERIS culture across all employees
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels across cross-functional teams
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational metrics, policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or a related field; or 7+ years of equivalent education and experience in operations management with significant healthcare industry knowledge
  • Experience in Payment Integrity preferred

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Strong understanding of data, systems, and operational processes within a scalable business environment
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and present effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and all levels of the organization
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies

Pay

CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay, with salary ranges varying by location. Factors considered include federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. The pay range for this role is $83,494 – $139,020. For leveled roles, new hires may be slotted into a different level based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit, which may impact the salary range.
