About the role
The Cath Lab Department leader oversees the design, development, and provision of services and programs that enhance patient focus. The position involves managing clinical operations, resource management, fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and direct procedural care.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements services and programs to support patient focus.
- Manages day-to-day clinical operations including patient care, resource allocation, and fiscal management.
- Ensures adherence to regulatory and accrediting bodies, federal, and state regulations.
- Collaborates with other directors/managers to support the Cardiovascular Service Line.
- Assumes leadership roles in areas of expertise and project management.
- Manages patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
- Participates in direct procedural care as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- AAS in Cardiovascular Technology (CV) from an accredited cardiovascular program.
- Minimum 10 years continuous clinical experience in a Cath Lab or EP setting.
- Experience in all facets of the cardiovascular laboratory and background in CV technology.
- Minimum 2 years of recent management experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as RN in the state of Montana.
- Current active registry as a Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Knowledge of acceptable cardiovascular laboratory standards and practices.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the organization.
- Knowledge of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PCs.
- Ability to manipulate various types of electronic and clinical equipment, adjust and troubleshoot monitoring equipment, IV infusions, and computer equipment.
- Ability to operate specialty equipment related to area of expertise and perform computer tasks at a "user" level.
- Work in a temperature-controlled environment.
- Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
