Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for facilities, travel, and other indirect spend categories to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain a high-performing supplier network by identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and managing strategic supplier relationships.
- Lead complex contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing, service levels, rebates, and contractual terms.
- Identify and implement cost reduction, cost avoidance, and process improvement opportunities across assigned categories.
- Oversee and mentor a team of Strategic Category Analysts, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.
- Establish department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to drive procurement excellence and operational consistency.
- Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools to measure key performance indicators.
- Conduct cost-benefit and value analyses to support sourcing decisions and supplier selection.
- Partner with executive and operational leaders on procurement strategies related to acquisitions, due diligence, budgeting, and operational support.
- Monitor market conditions, industry trends, supplier capabilities, and economic factors to inform sourcing strategies and business decisions.
- Ensure contract compliance and optimize vendor pricing, discounts, and rebate programs.
- Research and implement innovative technologies, tools, and services that improve procurement effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies, and privacy requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive strategic sourcing and procurement experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing direct reports, including leading, coaching, developing, and evaluating procurement or sourcing professionals.
- Leadership experience within a healthcare, healthcare services, or similarly regulated environment preferred.
- Experience managing facilities-related procurement categories required; travel category management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and spend analysis.
- Experience using procurement, purchasing, and materials management systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
- Indirect procurement leadership experience within a large, multi-site organization.
- Experience building procurement programs, supplier performance frameworks, and category management strategies.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or related procurement/supply chain credentials are a plus.
