Director Cardiac Services

About the Role

As the Director of Cardiac Services for Mercy Bakersfield Hospital, you will lead the development of a new cardiac services program from the ground up. The hospital is currently constructing three Cath Lab/IR suites, expected to be completed in early 2027, with licensing anticipated in March 2027. Your expertise will guide the planning, staffing, and development of this service line, including creating educational and programmatic competencies and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also strategize future growth opportunities, such as adding diagnostics and electrophysiology (EP) services.

This role involves operational oversight of the new service line, program development and management, and identifying growth opportunities. You will serve as a liaison between senior leadership, medical staff, nursing personnel, hospital employees, and outside vendors. Additionally, you will maintain quality standards, policies, procedures, and practices to meet program accreditation and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a new cardiac services program, including planning, staffing, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop educational and programmatic competencies for staff.
• Provide operational oversight for the cardiac service line and identify growth opportunities.
• Serve as a liaison between senior leadership, medical staff, nursing personnel, hospital employees, and vendors.
• Maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures to meet accreditation and certification requirements.
• Strategize and plan for future service expansions, such as diagnostics and EP.

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in hospital or medical group leadership operations at the administration level.
• Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Registered Nursing License (RN) in California preferred.
• Master’s Degree or comparable postgraduate degree preferred.

Pay

$69.41 - $103.25 per hour.
