Director Capital Markets
About the role
This position develops business in the syndicated and participated multi-lender loan market by working with leading financial institutions throughout the United States. Works with food companies, agribusinesses, agricultural production companies, and rural utilities by building relationships with leading lenders on a national level. The incumbent supports the execution of the business and marketing plan for the Capital Markets team.
Responsibilities
- Proactively maintains and improves relationships with Syndication Lenders, Traders, and Borrowers.
- Works closely with clients on participations and complex financing transactions.
- Develops creative and innovative solutions to client problems.
- Develops important business networks and resources that provide new ideas and information.
- Provides a wide variety of financial services and demonstrates exceptional client service.
- Initiates contact and develops relationships with Syndication Lenders, Traders, and Borrowers to obtain new financing opportunities.
- Closes new sales, maintains positive client relationships, and gains recognition with the industry.
- Affords assistance in implementing the capital markets business and marketing plan in order to attain sales results.
- Develops and maintains strategic alliances with other financial institutions and/or local banks for participations purposes.
- Develops and maintains assigned industry knowledge and expertise to be shared as needed and to facilitate more sound credit decisions.
- Keeps up with changing economic markets and technology.
- Serves as an internal resource for other team members needing technical, administrative or industry information and/or guidance.
- Assesses assigned portfolio to maintain credit exposure levels within internal guidelines and work with internal team members, such as credit and audit, to develop sound lender policies and procedures.
- Frequently interacts with the underwriting team in the Credit Department and Loan Committee is required in order to resolve problems and gain approvals for financial commitments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agriculture or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Advanced experience in financial services and credit experience is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of syndicated finance and senior debt loan structuring.
- Strong decision-making skills are required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, client service and team skills.
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective negotiating, influencing and effective selling skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness are critical in this position.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other related industry applications.
- Demonstrated ability to educate, motivate, mentor and work with team members, clients and other lending professionals.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

Pay
$149,700 - $257,400 USD
