Director, Business Intelligence & Systems Integration

The Director, Business Intelligence and System Integration will lead the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of Pacsun’s enterprise Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and system integration initiatives. This role is critical in leveraging data, analytics, AI integration, and advanced technology to inform decision-making across the organization, with a focus on retail data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable enterprise system integration and Business Intelligence solutions, incorporating analytics for enhanced decision-making.
- Drive the adoption and integration of AI technologies to innovate retail and BI solutions and improve business insights, focusing on predictive and prescriptive analytics tailored to retail operations.
- Oversee all BI, data warehouse, and data for enabling AI-driven initiatives, ensuring solutions align with business requirements, IT strategy, and operational goals.
- Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of system integration solutions across the company’s enterprise applications.
- Ensure optimal performance and scalability of Mulesoft integrations, supporting existing and future business needs.
- Oversee integrations for key systems, including Microsoft D365, Manhattan OMS, Manhattan POS, EDI, and other relevant enterprise applications, ensuring compatibility and alignment with business processes.
- Manage the integration of retail data sources into enterprise systems to ensure data integrity and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to guide reporting solutions for the next ERP and Financial System transformation, ensuring BI and data strategies align with broader organizational changes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive data design documentation, including models, diagrams, and flow charts.
- Optimize back-end data sources for accuracy and efficiency, leveraging AI-powered tools for advanced data processing.
- Provide expert data modeling and validation to support robust business decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve technical challenges and align solutions with business needs.
- Lead the development of ETL processes and OLAP efforts to ensure efficient data transformations and analytics.
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders to prioritize and address data-related initiatives.
- Mentor and manage the BI team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
- Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality; setting the example for leaders and associates.
- Develop and nurture strong cross-functional partnerships; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
- Serve as a Pacsun advocate in the industry and marketplace.
- Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence.
- As a manager, serve as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct.
- Balance a strong management presence with a high level of approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, BI solutions, and analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Mandatory retail industry experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microstrategy and hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Extensive experience with AI analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning applications in BI.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide data architecture solutions, focusing on retail analytics and innovation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and transformations, including ERP and financial systems.

Pay
$176,000 - $196,000 per year

- Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.

- Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout the building.
- Hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. As a national retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
