About the Role

The Director, Bureau of Investigations and Intelligence for the Department of Corrections (DOC) oversees complex investigative work, coordinates intelligence efforts, and strengthens statewide security initiatives. This position shapes policies, supports collaboration with partner agencies, and manages sensitive legal processes to protect facilities and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise investigations, review confidential reports, and ensure procedures are followed.
• Plan work, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and address concerns for multiple investigative units.
• Guide intelligence activities, maintain external partnerships, and ensure information is properly analyzed and shared.
• Build communication with federal, state, and local partners and support actions on sensitive matters.
• Participate in investigations involving inmates, employees, and visitors; prepare summaries for executive leadership.
• Protect confidential documents, communications, and intelligence materials.

Qualifications

• Four years of supervisory or managerial experience over professional staff responsible for conducting criminal or administrative investigations, and a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes the required supervisory experience.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Work Schedule

Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. Telework is not available for this position.
