Director (AVP) - Investment Management Operations
About the role
We’re seeking someone to join The Investment Management Operations group supporting the equity, fixed income, ETF, liquidity and alternative businesses for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transitions, market registration, product data and performance and attribution analysis. MSIM Operations also provides mutual fund support, derivative processing, and counterparty and credit event management. In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all day to day tasks are complete and accurate
- Address questions and concerns from the trading desk and escalate unresolved issues as needed
- Responsible for representation of accurate cash and position and break resolution
- Ensure crypto trades are booked timely and accurately
- Ensure all movements are processed to ensure proper settlement
- Monitor trading dashboard to insure all trades flow down properly
- Collaborate with IT and work on projects as necessary
- Resolve trade fails, settlement issues, updates and support
- Manage claim status and escalation
- Manage communication with Traders, Service Providers, Reconciliation Teams, Brokers and Custodians to ensure that all trades and cash is represented and settling correctly
- Address Investment Team concerns and queries and function as the main point of contact for the ETF Trading Desk
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Investment Operations, with knowledge of Exchange Traded Funds
- Working knowledge of baskets, cash and position reconciliations, ETF trade lifecycle
- Crypto knowledge required, including staking, slashing, other concepts specific to Crypto ETFs
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred)
- Solid team player with the ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a high pace/ high volume environment
- Knowledge of Aladdin system (advantage)

Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $82,000 and $133,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
