About the role
This position provides leadership and management for one or more accounts or significant audit projects, with a focus on growth, operationalization of new products and solutions, and oversight of product management for Content Enablement. Responsibilities include effective audit operations management, quality and service assurance, and people management and development, all driven by metrics.
Responsibilities
- Audit Service Delivery: Direct the successful delivery of audit services to clients by managing assigned teams, providing leadership, and ensuring client needs and expectations are met or exceeded. Develop and implement key metrics to drive performance in quality and productivity, ensuring a consistent and satisfactory customer experience.
- Audit Productivity: Review audit progress against established metrics and direct activities to achieve business goals and customer expectations. Coordinate with Business Optimization and other support functions to meet audit goals while demonstrating awareness of client needs, team needs, and audit profitability.
- Cost Management: Improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce operational costs while maintaining 100% compliance with customer contracts and company policies.
- Quality and Continuous Improvement: Support the development of innovative audit solutions and concepts. Optimize audit processes and efficiencies.
- Customer Service: Manage customer problems and conflicts through direct communication to achieve mutually accepted resolutions. Remove barriers, identify process improvement opportunities, and serve as the top escalation point for customer issues. Lead implementation of actions to resolve issues and ensure follow-through until closure.
- Account Growth: Ensure the audit team explores all possible claim categories and types, utilizing available proprietary software, reports, and IT resources. Collaborate with Strategic Account Management (SAM) to identify growth opportunities within existing and potential clients.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations regarding the safeguarding of Protected Health Information (PHI) and communicate requirements to all associates involved in the audit engagement.
- Contract Management: Partner with clients and the sales team on contract renewals and RFP processes by identifying gaps in current contracts, understanding customer needs, and contributing to RFP responses. Facilitate contract terminations or scope changes, including negotiating transition procedures and prices.
- Audit Staffing: Meet regularly with audit and audit support managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels and plan workloads and assignments based on audit needs.
- People Management: Provide managerial leadership, direct the selection, supervision, evaluation, and development of staff, and set objectives and conduct performance reviews for direct reports. Oversee evaluations for indirect team members.
- Performance Management: Work with Human Resources to recommend and implement performance management, progression, and compensation actions. Resolve employee concerns and sensitive people issues in accordance with HR policies.
- Staff Training & Development: Follow established processes for training and career progression to enable revenue growth and staff development. Promote and participate in knowledge-sharing activities such as best practices, benchmarking, and IT tools enhancement. Ensure all staff are properly trained on policies, procedures, and best practices, and maintain required certifications.
- Succession Planning: Proactively plan for succession and growth to ensure no gaps in productivity and customer service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5 years of healthcare auditing, claims, or healthcare billing experience required.
- Prior experience with direct client contact (account management, audit, sales, etc.) required.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and claim databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 5 years of people management experience (preferably managing large teams) required.
- Strong ability to manage and create action from metrics.
- Budgeting/forecasting experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills across functions and business lines.
- Client-facing experience (account management, audit, sales).
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry-based standards.
Pay
Base compensation ranges from $142,000 to $173,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
