About the role

The Director will lead a team of employees across multiple technical disciplines, focusing on driving organizational growth, technical innovation, and operational excellence while ensuring alignment with company and client objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership and Organizational Growth
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to teams across multiple technical disciplines, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Influence and motivate others to achieve goals through effective leadership and personal example.
    • Establish employee and internal client satisfaction as primary professional business goals.
    • Drive technical innovation and excellence across the organization to enhance capabilities and competitiveness.
    • Partner with all areas of the company to achieve business objectives and foster collaboration across divisions.
  • Project and Program Oversight
    • Oversee successful project and program execution, including strategic resourcing, staffing, and adherence to deadlines and budgets.
    • Collaborate with Program and Project Managers to ensure delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
    • Provide high-level technical input and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) when required.
  • Workforce Development and Planning
    • Lead recruiting efforts to attract, retain, and develop top talent, ensuring optimal workforce alignment.
    • Develop and implement educational and training strategies to adapt to evolving technologies, markets, and external challenges.
    • Actively promote the development of new competencies and provide effective mentoring and coaching to subordinates.
    • Support employee development initiatives to enhance technical capabilities and organizational effectiveness.
  • Resource Optimization and Operational Excellence
    • Ensure the optimal application of technology, engineering policies, and other resources to meet program requirements.
    • Develop detailed and accurate labor forecasts to meet organizational goals and application rates.
    • Deliver direct labor goals in alignment with program managers to meet division objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Business Development and Strategic Initiatives
    • Provide technical input and resources for business capture efforts and proposals to support new business initiatives.
    • Align workforce planning and technical participation with business development strategies to drive sustained growth.
    • Identify and provide resources for technical participation in business capture efforts and proposals.
  • Behavioral and Leadership Excellence
    • Demonstrate the organization’s values in daily interactions with staff at all levels.
    • Seek out pertinent data, analyze problems, and make timely, logical decisions based on evidence.
    • Adjust approaches to meet goals, juggle multiple demands, and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Actively pursue opportunities to improve and acquire additional knowledge and skills.
    • Demonstrate personal accomplishment and a desire to excel by setting and maintaining ambitious standards for achievement.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration) and 10+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience.
    • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects across multiple technical disciplines.
    • Advanced leadership, mentoring, and strategic planning skills.
    • Experience in workforce planning, resource management, and organizational development.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Experience in a nonprofit or DoD government contracting environment.
    • Familiarity with DoD standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Proven ability to drive technical innovation and excellence across divisions.
    • Experience supporting business development efforts, including proposal writing and capture management.
