Director, Ambulatory Surgery - GI Endoscopy
Responsibilities
Oversees the development of strategic plans, goals and metrics to achieve fiscal, quality, safety, professional practice and patient experience vision.
Oversees the development and implementation of the fiscal and capital plans and adjusts accordingly to support the fiscal success.
Ensures collaboration with others throughout the organization to improve Surgical Services performance and operating efficiencies.
Gathers continuous intelligence on Surgical Services performance, customer perception, industry trends and new problems and opportunities.
Leads the development of action plans based on this data.
Collaborates with the Medical Executive Committee, medical staff, nursing staff, other departments and/or professional groups to develop, change in people, processes and technology intelligence on Surgical Services performance, customer perception, industry trends and new problems and opportunities.
Leads the development of action plans based on this data.
Collaborates with team to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services that support safe, quality patient care delivery and effective utilization of workforce, facilities and equipment.
PARTNERS WITH THE VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCIAL MANAGER AND CLINICAL LEADERS TO DEVELOP, MAINTAIN AND EVALUATE A PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT THAT EMPOWERS AND SUPPORTS STAFF.
Encourages shared decision-making, accountability and just culture.
Assures the development of policies and procedures, which support evidence-based professional practice, quality, safety and regulatory agency compliance.
Effectively manages human resources and creates an environment conducive to staff recruitment and retention.
Applies organizational policy and procedures in hiring, promoting, transferring and terminating staff.
Provides staff with annual performance feedback and opportunity to set professional goals.
Integrates scientific evidence regarding retention of nursing staff into unit planning.
Accreditation Issues
Ensures that internal and external regulatory standards or nursing practice are met or exceeded.
This includes organizational policy and procedures as well as state, AAAHC, Board of Nursing and other specified accrediting bodies.
Integrates current scientific evidence into standards of practice.
Quality Improvement
Leads and participates in quality improvement initiatives that focus on identified patient safety or quality of care deficits.
Education
Creates an educational environment conducive to student learning, staff continuing education, and orientation of new staff members.
Other Information
Education Requirements: Graduate of Accredited Nursing Program. Bachelor's degree (BSN) required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: Must have NC RN Licensure and BCLS, ACLS certification.
Professional Experience Requirements: Seven (7) years nursing experience with at least three (3) years of progressive leadership experience required. Evidence of three (3) years in a hospital setting, staffing or leadership in the clinically relevant field. Must have experience with AAAHC Accreditation, CMS and State and Federal regulations as well as knowledge of surgery scheduling, credentialing and insurance verification.
