Responsibilities
- Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, performance management, and terminations
- Counsel leadership teams on workforce strategy, organizational risk, and compliance
- Lead legal strategy related to independent contractor classification and marketplace workforce models
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on product development initiatives
- Translate legal requirements into practical business guidance
- Monitor employment and marketplace regulatory developments and advise on business impact
- Develop policies, trainings, and compliance controls
Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 10+ years of experience in employment law, labor issues, and/or marketplace counseling
- Deep expertise in independent contractor classification and marketplace workforce models
- Experience counseling product and business teams in startup or high-growth technology companies
- Strong understanding of traditional employment law and employee relations
