Responsibilities

  • Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, performance management, and terminations
  • Counsel leadership teams on workforce strategy, organizational risk, and compliance
  • Lead legal strategy related to independent contractor classification and marketplace workforce models
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on product development initiatives
  • Translate legal requirements into practical business guidance
  • Monitor employment and marketplace regulatory developments and advise on business impact
  • Develop policies, trainings, and compliance controls

Qualifications

  • J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 10+ years of experience in employment law, labor issues, and/or marketplace counseling
  • Deep expertise in independent contractor classification and marketplace workforce models
  • Experience counseling product and business teams in startup or high-growth technology companies
  • Strong understanding of traditional employment law and employee relations
