Director, Actuary (Group Advanced Analytics)

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Director Actuary to join the group Advanced Analytics team. This role will turn data into practical insight that improves visibility, decision-making, and business performance.

About the role

You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and validation of claims risk management models across LTD and STD
• Translate disability claims experience into measurable business metrics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed model insights into workflows
• Support model governance and monitor model performance for stability and bias
• Develop reporting frameworks connecting model outputs to disability claim indicators
• Act as a senior actuarial subject matter expert on model deployment
• Educate claims leaders on model recommendations and their impact on decision-making

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• 7+ years of actuarial experience, particularly in group disability or claims analytics
• Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Experience translating LTD and/or STD disability claim insights into actionable business intelligence
• Knowledge of predictive modeling concepts and model validation techniques
• Strong communication skills to convey complex actuarial concepts to diverse audiences

Pay

$158,800 – $238,200 annually
