Director, ACES

CASES is seeking a Director to advance the Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program’s mission across Brooklyn and Queens. The Education, Career and Enrichment department specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system and those affected by violence. ACES serves young men ages 16-24, engaging those in high-risk behaviors to help them overcome systemic barriers and develop life, education, and employment skills.

About the role

The Director will support the expansion of the ACES program into Brooklyn and Queens, ensuring the program model is implemented with fidelity. This role requires administrative oversight to support supervisors, lead teams, and ensure participants receive high-quality care. The position involves a hands-on approach, frequent community visits, and collaboration with staff and partners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a leading champion and ambassador for the program’s mission and values with internal and external stakeholders
• Develop ACES supervisors to successfully manage teams and reach full leadership capacity
• Lead staff using performance management and professional development processes, including goal setting, feedback, and growth opportunities
• Ensure the program aligns with youth development practices, trauma-informed care, and the ReWire CBT model
• Support teams in problem-solving for complex cases
• Identify, build, and maintain strong collaborative relationships with program partners, including community leaders, clergy, NYPD, probation, and court stakeholders
• Plan and implement continuous quality improvement processes using performance metrics and program data
• Prepare reports and work closely with the Data Analyst to assess program impact and evaluate performance
• Ensure contractual obligations are met
• Manage the program budget to ensure effective use of resources

Requirements

• 7 years of experience working with youth and/or young adults impacted by the criminal legal system
• 3+ years of supervisory and program/contract management experience
• Understanding of community needs and cultural dynamics
• Deep passion for working with youth and families impacted by the criminal legal system
• Experience implementing programs/services
• Ability to create tools and systems that support team and program success
• Demonstrated knowledge of youth development, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral interventions
• Willingness to innovate and reimagine approaches
• Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse stakeholders
• Commitment to supporting teams through challenges and celebrating successes

Pay

$95,000 per year

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (35 hours per week excluding breaks). Flexible work arrangements available, including partial remote work for tasks like drafting notes.
