Accounting & Transactions Advisory
As part of Athene's Accounting & Transactions Advisory Group, you'll work on the company's most strategic transactions, collaborate across the business, and gain exposure to complex accounting matters that accelerate your career. Accountabilities
- Lead the evaluation of complex and technical accounting matters arising from strategic transactions, new business initiatives, and evolving accounting guidance.
- Partner with senior leaders across the organization to provide trusted accounting advice, influence key business decisions, and drive innovative solutions through the use of AI and emerging technologies.
- Support all aspects of US GAAP and US STAT accounting policy activities across business units for the transactions of Athene, including efficient communication of activity and issues across the organization to all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide subject matter expertise in developing products and analyzing strategic and complex transactions related to: Insurance contracts, reinsurance contracts, mergers & acquisitions, pension group annuities, and general accounting topics.
- Provide accounting related guidance and support to business units responsible for preparing financial statements.
- Lead the development, maintenance and publication of Athene’s comprehensive Accounting Policy and Transaction Manual (and other documents, including accounting memos) across all relevant accounting areas.
- Lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and communication of new and emerging accounting guidance developed by the FASB, SEC and NAIC across relevant accounting areas.
- Develop and execute internal training opportunities for the broader Finance organization.
- Manage and/or support management of team and its member(s).
- Lead special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- 8+ years of related progressive accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or Statutory accounting for life and annuity insurance, including experience with reinsurance and LDTI preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise researching, interpreting, and communicating complex technical accounting issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
Pay
$182,501.60 - $273,752.40 USD Annual
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
