About the role
The Director of Accounting is a strategic and hands-on position dedicated to lead the financial operations across our dynamic Supply Chain Logistics, Parcel, Automation, and Consulting business units. This role will oversee all aspects of including accounting, tax compliance and strategy, treasury management, payroll controls, and 401(k) vendor management and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with corporate goals and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple business units, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies.
- Oversee and execute all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, audits, and external auditor coordination.
- Partner and collaborate with FP&A to execute budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic financial planning initiatives that support business objectives.
- Lead and execute corporate tax strategy and compliance activities, including income, sales/use, property, and international taxes, while ensuring accurate filings and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and execute tax planning initiatives, coordinate with external tax advisors, and assess the impact of new tax legislation on the organization.
- Manage and execute treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, debt management, investments, working capital optimization, and treasury controls.
- Oversee and execute payroll controls and 401(k) administration, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, secure payroll operations, vendor management, and coordination of related audits and filings.
- Build, lead, and execute finance and cross-functional initiatives by developing high-performing teams, driving process improvements and automation, collaborating with Operations, HR, Legal, and IT, and supporting M&A due diligence and integration activities.
Requirements
- Collaborative, inclusive, and hands-on with a focus on developing talent and driving results.
- Ability to identify financial risks, resolve complex issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Prominent leadership and team management experience.
- Expertise in payroll software systems and 401(k) vendor management.
- Deep understanding of financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Lucanet).
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, automation, or consulting industries is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, tax, and treasury.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required by business needs.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all required travel documentation, including a valid passport where international travel is necessary.
- Must be able to lawfully enter and exit the United States and other countries required for business travel.
- Must not have any legal or regulatory restrictions that would prevent the issuance, renewal, or use of required travel documents, or otherwise limit the ability to fulfill the travel requirements of the role.
