About the role

Blue Origin is developing reusable, safe, and low‑cost space vehicles and systems. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle, and specifically the Quattro second stage (Gen 2), a 4‑engine evolution of the current Gen 1 GS2. As the Quattro Stage Director, you will report to the Quattro Program Senior Director and manage the team that owns the stage end‑item deliverable for final integration, hot‑fire testing, and integration to the launch vehicle. You will oversee the product structure, collaborate with module leads, and own all hardware design and analysis required for final integration, transportation, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Manage the team that owns the Quattro stage end item across final integration, transportation, hot‑fire, and vehicle final integration, including design and analysis of required hardware.
• Oversee the Quattro product structure to ensure alignment with the production plan.
• Report performance, cost, schedule, and risk using a standard business rhythm (weekly progress reports, monthly program reviews, technical performance measures).
• Drive workforce planning strategies to improve labor utilization and aid transition from development to production.
• Work with procurement and program leadership to execute cost‑reducing procurement strategies and improve delivery performance.
• Collaborate with operations to assess and drive production rate increase readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or a technical degree.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Highly organized leader with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.
• Direct experience with launch vehicle or space system integration and testing across design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and test.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multifaceted environment and travel as needed.
• U.S. citizenship, national status, permanent residency (Green Card), or lawful refugee/asylee status.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven engineering management track record with 10+ direct reports in a product‑focused organization.
• Experience leading new product introduction (NPI) initiatives for large‑scale products.
• Proficiency with Primavera (P6), MS Project, Confluence, Jira, Tableau, SQL, MySQL, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
• Strong business management competence and experience leading large, geographically dispersed programs with major subcontractors.

Pay

Base Pay Range for Washington applicants: $218,262.00 – $305,566.80 (other site ranges may differ).
