Director 2 - Facilities Operations

Sodexo is seeking a senior leader to oversee maintenance, grounds, asset management, and custodial operations at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. This role drives operational excellence, team development, and an outstanding campus experience while managing compliance, preventive maintenance, budgets, and campus partnerships.

About the Role

In this senior leadership position, you will oversee all aspects of facilities operations, including skilled trades, maintenance programs, staffing, safety, and compliance across complex, high-impact environments. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure optimal building performance, and partner with internal stakeholders to drive strategic improvements. Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources, this role involves performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hiring/firing decisions. Results are achieved through the work of others, relying on influence and negotiation within the organization. Progression reflects the acquisition of broad technical expertise, business knowledge, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Play a pivotal role in construction planning, system upgrades, and long-term asset preservation.
• Manage operational budgets and resources while aligning facilities strategy with organizational goals.
• Oversee complex facilities operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems.
• Direct construction projects, capital improvements, and long-term infrastructure planning.
• Engage stakeholders to drive alignment and operational success across diverse teams.

• Proven experience leading complex facilities operations.
• Leadership skills to manage, mentor, and inspire frontline and management teams.
• Expertise in construction projects, capital improvements, and infrastructure planning.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, contracts, and resource allocation.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of management experience.
• 5-7 years of related experience.

Pay

Pay range: $100,130 – $129,580 per year. Eligible to participate in Sodexo’s incentive plan for variable compensation in addition to base salary.
