Direct Support Worker

About the role

You will work in the community, assisting STAR clients with light domestic support, including shopping, preparing meals, escorting to appointments, respite, social activities to support clients to remain living independently and comfortably in their own homes. This role offers variety and an opportunity for you to make a one-on-one connection with vulnerable people and make a huge positive impact in their lives.

Requirements

• Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest in supporting the aged and people with disability
• Calm and caring
• Punctual, reliable and flexible
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Minimum requirements

• Be eligible to work in Australia
• Open Current "C" class Qld driver's licence
• A roadworthy, registered and insured vehicle
• Flu vaccination mandatory
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or current Yellow Card)
• A First Aid/CPR Certificate
• NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
