Direct Support Staff - Weekends

About the Role

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in‑home and community‑based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Bethlehem, PA and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Support community integration and participation in recreational activities.
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
• Promote independence while ensuring safety and well‑being.
• Document services and client progress accurately.
• Follow individualized care plans and behavioral support plans as needed.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional relationship with clients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional, Behavioral Health Technician, or CNA preferred but not required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass required background screenings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ideal candidates have experience in one or more of the following: Direct Support Professional (DSP), Home Care, Home Health Aide (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Residential Support Staff, Behavioral Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Autism Support, Community‑Based Services.

Pay

$20.00 per hour

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling including days, evenings, weekends, and overnights.
• Consistent weekends available.
