Direct Support Professional/SRNA/Caregiver/CNA

About the role

The Hazelwood Center is an Intermediate Care Facility that supports the long-term care needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The Direct Support Professional position is crucial for ensuring the safety, happiness, and wellbeing of our clients. The support level required will vary based on each client's individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic daily care needs such as bathing, toileting, feeding, dressing, and active treatment.
• Deliver socializing activities as part of your regular job duties.
• Support residents in maintaining personal hygiene and independence.
• Ensure residents' safety and comfort within the facility.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Document resident care activities and progress in accordance with facility policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to meet criminal background and drug screening standards (no felony, no pending court dates).
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1 year experience in direct caregiving role.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for accessing facility systems.

Pay

New Vista Hazelwood offers a starting base pay of $19.51 up to $20.64 based upon education and certifications including MA & SRNA & RBT.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical work week of 37.5 hours, including some opportunity for overtime. Weekend work is required, and employees are assigned shifts. The position offers a rotating schedule to provide direct support and supervision of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Current openings are for 1st and 3rd shifts: 1st - 7:00 AM - 3:15 PM, 3rd - 11:00 PM - 7:15 AM.
