About the role
Join a mission-driven team delivering restorative care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in supportive, community-based settings. As a Restorative Support Professional, you will play a critical role in implementing behavioral health care plans and supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, emotional well-being, and community integration.
Responsibilities
- Deliver restorative and rehabilitative services based on individual behavioral health care plans.
- Provide motivational, consistent, and respectful support to foster high-quality relationships.
- Use crisis intervention skills and offer intensive support during challenging moments.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance individuals' daily routines and life skills, including: nutritional guidance, employment and volunteer opportunities, social and relationship development, personal care and hygiene, medication administration.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes growth and autonomy.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring emotional/mental health needs.
- Skilled in monitoring, documenting, and communicating progress clearly and professionally.
- A natural role model with a positive, caring demeanor and a strong sense of teamwork.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience providing rehabilitative or behavioral support to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
- Safety Care Certification preferred (current or previous).
- Licensure: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. (with assistance or lifting devices), and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, or kneeling without restriction.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
