Direct Support Professional - Specialized IDD

As a Restorative Support Professional, you will play a critical role in implementing behavioral health care plans and supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, emotional well-being, and community integration. Locations: Coventry & Johnston, RI.

Responsibilities

• Deliver restorative and rehabilitative services based on individual behavioral health care plans.
• Provide motivational, consistent, and respectful support to foster high-quality relationships.
• Use crisis intervention skills and offer intensive support during challenging moments.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance individuals' daily routines and life skills, including nutritional guidance, employment and volunteer opportunities, social and relationship development, personal care and hygiene, medication administration.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes growth and autonomy.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience providing rehabilitative or behavioral support to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
• Safety Care Certification preferred (current or previous).
• Licensure: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. (with assistance or lifting devices), and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, or kneeling without restriction.

Skills

• Deep understanding of intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring emotional/mental health needs.
• Skilled in monitoring, documenting, and communicating progress clearly and professionally.

Pay

$24.00-$25.00/hour Weekend Differential + $1.00/hour
