Direct Support Professional Senior (Intermittent/On-Call) - Behavior Modification Assistant

This posting may be used to fill multiple permanent intermittent (on-call) positions within Direct Care and Treatment Community Based Services sites.

Shift differential offered for hours between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am.

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional Senior, you will support individuals in our short- and long-term housing program who may have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, brain injury, and other emotional, behavioral, or medical complexities. You will help ensure the people we serve achieve their highest quality of life and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing individuals’ needs by performing direct care duties.
  • Develop and implement residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods.
  • Evaluate and document outcomes, maintain or modify plans, and perform related work as required.
  • Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports to individuals with challenging behaviors.
  • Transport and accompany individuals to medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and spiritual events.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Able to perform all physical/essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment; Direct Care and Treatment does not provide sponsorship for work visas.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Experience working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Experience with verbal de-escalation strategies and working with individuals who exhibit aggressive behaviors.
  • Clear communication skills to understand and communicate complex services with community members, employers, and teams.

Preferred

  • Experience working effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Experience collecting and summarizing data to document program delivery by observation, charting, and measuring.
  • Formal training, certification, or education in a related field (e.g., CNA, PCA, Child Development, First Aid, CPR).
  • Certified Nursing Assistant experience in a group home, nursing home, assisted living, or similar setting.

Schedule

  • Intermittent/on-call, unlimited (temporary) positions.
  • Shifts: Days, rotating (day/evening combination), or overnights.
  • Work hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., or other hours depending on program needs.
  • Days of work: Varies; may include weekends and holidays.

Pay

Salary range: $24.54 – $31.43 per hour.
