Direct Support Professional Senior - Behavior Modification Assistant

About the role

The Direct Support Professional Senior job class supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses. Responsibilities include assessing needs, developing and implementing support plans, evaluating outcomes, and responding therapeutically to individuals with challenging behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual needs through direct care duties
• Develop and implement residential and habilitation support plans
• Evaluate and document outcomes, modify plans as necessary
• Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports
• Support individuals in achieving their highest quality of life and personal growth

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses
• Experience with verbal de-escalation strategies and working with individuals who exhibit aggressive behaviors
• Clear communication skills to understand and communicate complex services
• Basic math and computer skills
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to perform physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant experience preferred

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and behavior management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills

Pay

$24.54 - $31.43/hour

Schedule

Shifts available: Day, rotating (day/evening combination) OR overnight. Shift differential for hours between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM is offered.
