About the role
This is a Per Diem position. Under the direction of the Group Home Manager, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential provides support, skill development, and related services to residents at the South Street Group Home. The DSP implements Residential Treatment Plans, participates in day-to-day activities with residents, and supports the operation of the group home.
Responsibilities
- Direct Service
- Participates in daily skill-building with residents relative to personal care, independent living, and community involvement.
- Ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Uses a manner of speaking consistent with adult interactions that conveys respect and encourages independence.
- Program Implementation and Development
- Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Assists with treatment plan development and attends staff meetings as directed by supervisor.
- Provides case management as assigned.
- Serves as an advocate for the residents.
- Recordkeeping
- Maintains all documentation required by policy and procedure.
- Submits documentation for payroll, client records, incident reports, and other daily functions in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Maintains medical administration certification.
- Documents protocols accurately and in a timely manner.
- Housekeeping
- Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned.
- Promptly reports problems with facility, furnishings, vehicle, or grounds to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related human services field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
