Direct Support Professional - Residential School

Devereux - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Based in Rutland, MA, the Devereux Day School serves individuals age 6 through 21 who present with issues such as disruptive behaviors, mood/anxiety disorders, complex trauma, or abuse-reactive behaviors. You could be part of an exceptional team supporting students in grades K-12 and beyond as they work towards diplomas and learn vocational, transitional, and social-emotional skills. Our students have typically experienced multiple academic failures, most often resulting from a wide variety of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

About the role

As a Direct Support/Care Professional, you will be passionate about working with and helping youth. This position is located in Rutland, MA.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Pay

Pay for this position starts at $21.12/hour, with additional compensation added for higher education and/or years of relevant experience up to $24.58/hour.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in Rutland, MA.
