Direct Support Professional - Residential Group Home - Under 20 hour Shifts Available

About the role

Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing them with Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services. BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Residential Group Home Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
• Transport individuals to and from programs and activities.
• Administer medications and treatments meeting all guidelines and accurate documentation.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
• Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least age 18.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Physical Efforts

• May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
• Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.

Schedule

• Wednesday 9:00am-3:00pm - 6 hours
• Saturday 3:00pm-11:00pm - 8 hours
