Direct Support Professional (Part-Time Weekend)

About the role

Community Options, Inc. is hiring Part-Time and PRN Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff, and Home Health Aides in Columbia, MD to provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Auxiliary tasks include assisting with daily routines such as cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene
• Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and report any concerns immediately
• Aid in the learning and development of independent and community-based skills for individuals
• Engage individuals in community, social, and recreational activities
• Transport individuals to medical appointments and other activities in the community
• Complete accurate and timely program documentation and billable records
• Build a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
• Good judgment and ability to remain calm in crisis situations

Qualifications

No prior experience is required – paid training is provided.

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

• Part-Time - Sunday 9:00am - 3:00pm
• PRN - As needed
