Responsibilities
- Support and teach individuals varying levels of personal care, including bathing, toileting, teeth brushing, etc.
- Afford individuals opportunities to take on increasing control and responsibility over their daily lives.
- Assist with household maintenance, meal prep, and shopping.
- Accompany individuals on appointments as needed.
- Administer medications or support self-medication in accordance with residential guidelines.
- Follow routines and plans, including Behavior Support Plans, physical therapy, and more.
- Commit to helping people with varying disabilities participate in their community and lives.
- Show varied interests and personal connections in the local community.
- Show a proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior in work, volunteer, or school settings.
- Work as a creative, engaged, and dedicated member of the team.
- Receive paid orientation and training on CPR/First Aid, safety care, defensive driving, and medication administration.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required.
- One to three years of related experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
Pay
Starting pay is $20.50/hour, with additional differentials based on location and qualifications. Cape-based programs offer a $1/hour differential. Martha’s Vineyard programs offer a $4/hour differential, except the Franklin Street program, which offers $3/hour. An additional $1/hour differential is available for employees with active MAP certification, except at non-Franklin Street programs on Martha’s Vineyard. All asleep hours are paid at a flat rate of $17.50/hour.
