Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential Services
About the role
Make a meaningful impact while being part of a team dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Southwest Center is currently hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide support, supervision, and daily assistance to individuals living in our staffed residential homes.
Responsibilities
- Supporting individuals with daily routines and residential living activities
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs when applicable
- Encouraging participation in household, recreational, and community activities
- Aiding individuals in working toward personal goals and greater independence
- Implementing approved support strategies and behavior support plans
- Completing required daily documentation and service notes
- Transporting individuals in accordance with agency procedures when needed
- Maintaining confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all individuals served
- Communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Promoting a positive, safe, and person-centered environment within the home
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Experience supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred
- Successfully complete all required agency and regulatory training requirements
- Maintain First Aid and CPR certification requirements
- Pass required criminal background screenings
- Pass pre-employment and random drug testing
- Possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
- Maintain current automobile insurance
- Be dependable and available for assigned weekend and holiday shifts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED

Pay
$17.00 - $18.75 per hour
Schedule
Available Shifts: Weekend availability required. Shift options may include: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, 12-hour shifts: 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Holiday availability may occasionally be required based on program needs.
