Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Prince George’s County

About the role

MedSource Community Services, Inc. is a private non-profit DDA Provider of residential services in Prince George’s County. We design supports through Person-Centered Plans that promote personal growth, increased independence, relationship development, and enhanced dignity, rights, safety, health choices, community membership, and economic security.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and monitor the individual’s physical health, as outlined in the Medication Administration Training program
• Provide personal care of the individuals served
• Maintain the individual’s home in a clean, safe, and home-like environment per DDA Regulations
• Schedule health visits with health care providers according to the Individual Plan (IP) and individual needs
• Maintain individual and household budgets
• Provide community integration and leisure activities in accordance with the individual’s IP
• Facilitate the development and monitoring of personal relationships

Requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Availability to work 7 consecutive days from Wednesday to Wednesday (live-in, one week on, one week off)
• Comfortable with computers and cell phones for required software interaction
• Willing to drive medical transport vans
• Must pass a background check in accordance with CMS and State of Maryland rules

Qualifications

• Preferred: Accredited Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related work experience
• Preferred: Associate’s degree with related work experience
• Preferred: First aid/CPR and Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification

From $51,000.00 per year
