DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) NON-DRIVER - ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

About the Role

Brightway Living & Learning is a non‑profit provider of human services on Long Island, supporting over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, foster their independence, promote well‑being, and help them connect with their communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal care, meals, and hygiene.
• Promote independence by encouraging skill development and self‑advocacy.
• Support individuals in community integration and social participation.
• Monitor health and safety, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and other professionals to deliver person‑centered care.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Driver's License held for at least 18 months with a clean driving history.
• Successful completion of Brightway’s Transportation Orientation.
• Applicants who do not meet the driver requirement will be offered a lower hourly rate starting at $19.00.

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $19.00 to $20.90, with a lower starting rate of $19.00 for new hires who do not meet the driver‑license requirement.
