Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to Direct Support Professionals on shift.
- Implement services outlined in Habilitation Plan, IPP and daily schedule for all individuals in the homes.
- Ensure overall quality of care, safety and supervision of all individuals in the homes.
- Drive large capacity vehicles to transport all individuals in the homes.
- Operate large capacity vehicles (10-12 passenger vans and wheelchair buses).
- Implement active treatment, training programs, competency checks, behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, but not limited to areas of self-help, daily living, social skills, leisure activities and community inclusion for all residents.
- Safely lift, transfer and reposition all residents as outlined in daily schedules.
- Ensure safety for residents who eat orally during mealtimes.
- Complete housekeeping duties on a daily basis.
- Ensure adequate supervision of residents in the home.
- This may include staying past regularly scheduled hours until staff arrive for the next shift or back-up staffing is arranged.
- Report to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all individuals in the home.
- This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane.
- Ensure that the home has adequate supplies accessible to all staff and residents.
- Ensure daily documentation is completed by all staff members during each shift.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older.
- A High School Diploma.
- A valid FL Driver’s License with no major driving violations at all times.
- 6 months of experience working with persons who have Developmental Disabilities or working in an intensive behavior, psychiatric, nursing home or childcare.
- Supervisory experience (preferred).
