About the role

The role of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Dungarvin involves providing direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with various disabilities. The primary goal is to empower these individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
  • Aid with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, and more.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks and assist with meal preparation.
  • Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
  • Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
  • Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
  • Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
  • Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate.
  • Person-centered, patient, and kind.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Observant and detail-oriented.
  • Positive role-model for others and able to work on a team.
  • Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
  • Computer skills for documentation.
  • Valid Drivers License (due to transporting persons served).
  • Some positions / locations may require own personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance based on the role.
  • 18 years or older.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills are essential. You'll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

Pay

$14.90/hr & $15.30/hr after 90 days!

Schedule

Full-time and part-time shifts available for AM, PM, and NOC.
