Direct Support Professional / DSP
About the role
Easterseals PORT Health empowers individuals and strengthens communities through its mission. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll assist people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in completing daily tasks and achieving their goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
- Aid with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
- Support personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
- Help plan and organize their schedule.
- Document and report in the electronic health system of record daily.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols knowledge.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
- Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
- Reliable transportation, driver's license, and current auto insurance.
Qualifications
- Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
