Direct Support Professional (DSP)

About the role

Benchmark Human Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and significant behavioral challenges. The positions are located in various homes in Manchester, Concord, Weare, Bedford, Raymond, Bow, Pembroke, NH.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and positive implementation of individualized service plans.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans, conduct Replacement Behavior Trials, and reinforce plans consistently.
• Provide positive behavioral supports according to individual Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and reinforce socially appropriate behavior.
• Respond to emergency situations using Mandt Training techniques.
• Implement Relational Mandt to maintain a positive, engaged, and therapeutic environment.
• Use Technical Mandt when safety is compromised, following training and only as necessary.
• Report any restraints or significant behaviors to the on-call staff promptly.
• Assess for injuries after behavior or restraint incidents and notify the on-call staff.
• Make recommendations for plan changes based on best practices and individual needs.
• Enter daily behavior data and document observations in measurable terms.
• Administer medications and follow physician's orders concerning medications and treatments.
• Maintain the general well-being of individuals served, following supervisor and nurse instructions.
• Communicate health issues and concerns to supervisors regarding individuals served.
• Provide communication to supervisors regarding individuals served, their home, day program, or work-related needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Access to a vehicle in good condition with proof of auto insurance
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Schedule

Weekend staff needed. All shifts available (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
