DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) - ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

About the Role

Brightway Living and Learning, a 65‑year‑old agency serving over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). As a DSP you will provide compassionate, individualized support to individuals with disabilities, helping with daily living activities, fostering independence, promoting well‑being, and facilitating community participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.
• Help individuals develop life skills and make choices to foster independence.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

Requirements

• Valid NYS driver’s license held for at least 18 months with a clean driving history.
• Successful completion of Brightway Living and Learning Transportation Orientation.
• Empathetic, compassionate, and patient demeanor.
• Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player.

Pay

Hourly rate: $21.00 – $23.10. New hires who do not meet the driver‑license criteria will start at $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Tuesday: 7 am – 12 pm (39 hrs/week)
• Wednesday, Thursday: 7 am – 10 am & 2 pm – 10 pm (39 hrs/week)
• Sunday: 10 am – 10 pm (39 hrs/week)
• Monday: 7 am – 12 pm (30 hrs/week)
• Friday: 7 am – 10 am & 2 pm – 10 pm (30 hrs/week)
• Saturday: 10 am – 10 pm (37 hrs/week)
