DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) - ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

About the role

Brightway Living and Learning, a 65‑year‑old agency serving over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). DSPs provide compassionate, individualized support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities, fostering independence, promoting well‑being, and helping them connect with their communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.
• Foster independence by helping individuals develop life skills and make choices.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Collaborate effectively with a supportive team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Driver’s License held for at least 18 months with a clean driving history.
• Successful completion of Brightway Living and Learning Transportation Orientation.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Pay

Hourly rate: $21.00 – $23.10 per hour. New hires who do not meet the driver‑license criteria will start at $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Monday, Thursday, Friday: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (30 hours/week)
• Wednesday: 9 p.m. – 7 a.m.; Friday: 11 p.m. – 9 a.m.; Sunday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (32 hours/week)
• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (30 hours/week)
• DHWW – Dayhab without Walls: Monday‑Friday: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (40 hours/week)
