DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) - ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Brightway Living and Learning, you will support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, assisting with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings. You will foster independence, promote social inclusion, serve as a positive role model, and collaborate with a supportive team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.
• Foster independence by helping individuals develop life skills and make choices.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Driver's License held for at least 18 months with a clean driving history.
• Successful completion of Brightway Living and Learning Transportation Orientation.
• Empathetic, compassionate, and patient demeanor.
• Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Pay

Hourly rate: $21.00 – $23.10. New hires who do not meet the driver’s license criteria will start at $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Tuesday‑Friday: 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.
• Saturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Thursday‑Sunday: 9 p.m. – 7 a.m. (40 hours/week)
• COMMHAB: Monday‑Friday 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. / 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (40 hours/week)
• Wednesday‑Thursday: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday‑Sunday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (40 hours/week)
