DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) - ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

About the Role

Brightway Living and Learning, a 65‑year‑old agency serving over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). As a DSP you will provide compassionate, individualized support to individuals with disabilities, helping them with daily living activities, fostering independence, promoting well‑being, and connecting them with their communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.
• Foster independence by helping individuals develop life skills and make choices.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Collaborate effectively with a supportive team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

Requirements

• Valid NYS driver’s license held for at least 18 months with a clean driving history.
• Successful completion of Brightway Living and Learning Transportation Orientation.
• New hires who do not meet the driver criteria will be offered a lower rate of $19.00 / hour.

Pay

Hourly rate: $21.00 – $23.10. New hires who do not meet the driver requirements start at $19.00 / hour.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. (40 hours)
• Wednesday & Friday: 9 p.m. – 7 a.m.; Sunday: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. (32 hours) – Overnight
• Monday‑Friday: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (40 hours) – Day shift (DHWW)
