DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - DSH/30 hrs.

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will follow agency policies and participate in related goals and plans that promote inclusion and social and emotional growth for the individuals they support. The DSP is responsible for the health, well-being, and development of those served and collaborates with other staff to provide the best possible care.

Responsibilities

  • Follow agency policies and related goals to promote inclusion and social/emotional growth.
  • Provide care and support for individuals in their daily lives.
  • Create, implement, and update Positive Behavior Support Plans and Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
  • Support IMPACT's mission, vision, and guiding principles.

Requirements

  • Valid CT Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance.
  • CPR/First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration Certification.
  • Essential physical skills including running, squatting, stooping/bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling against resistance, and performing non-physical and physical interventions, including CPR.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of job experience preferred but will train motivated candidates.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of positive behavior support and individualized service planning.

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 2:30 pm (30 hours)
