About the role
Wendell Foster is interested in hiring an energetic Direct Support Professional for our Day Training Department to join the team of #DifferenceMakers!
Responsibilities
- Understand the individuals’ rights and display respect and dignity when interacting with the individuals.
- Safeguard the safety and well-being of individuals and implement the plan of care.
- Report any suspected form of abuse according to the departmental policy.
- Participate as a member of the individual’s plan of care team.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as walking, dressing, personal hygiene, eating, using the toilet, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting and financial assistance, home care, and cleaning.
- Provide emotional support and assistance to help the individual work through problems.
- Arrange and provide transportation to services, activities, and medical appointments as needed.
- Attend and actively participate in medical appointments and follow-up care as directed by the physician.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Current or ability to obtain first aid and CPR certification (training provided).
- Completion of all training required by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (training provided).
Qualifications
