About the Role
A Direct Support Professional in the WOW program helps promote independence and self-esteem to persons with disabilities by accompanying them into the community on a daily basis.
Our Day Services program provides individuals the opportunity to participate in a variety of group activities throughout the day at a site or in the community.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record
- Daily access to a vehicle
- Driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage
- Ability to pass SCIP/CPR certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Computer skills: able to use email, Google Suite, and database systems
Qualifications
- Ability to interact with individuals in a positive and encouraging way
- Professional manner, patience, empathy, and a strong desire to help others
- Interest in introducing individuals to community-based and site-based activities that inspire growth
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
