Direct Support Professional

Venture Community Services supports individuals facing diverse challenges through compassionate and innovative practices that encourage independence, empowerment, and opportunity. As a Direct Support Professional, you will enhance the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by supporting them in various daily activities and helping them engage in their communities.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Support household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and other personal care tasks
• Absorb individuals to medical appointments, assist with banking, and help them become active members of their community
• Attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines
• Participate in paid New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) training
• Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations
• Safely evacuate individuals from the home in case of emergencies

Requirements

• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in the qualifications section
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including holidays, overnights, or double shifts
