Direct Support Professional

About the role

Mission-driven team providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work in various settings, supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans, assisting with daily living skills, and guiding individuals on developmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and strategies to support individuals in living as independently as possible.
• Transport individuals to outings, field trips, medical appointments, and shopping.
• Aid in daily living skills such as meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Support persons served with living skills including grooming, bathing, and toileting.
• Redirect and manage agitated or aggressive behaviors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Six months of experience in human services
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
• Successful clearance of background checks
• A reliable, responsible attitude
