Direct Support Professional
About the role
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in empowering individuals and strengthening communities by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals. This part-time position involves afternoon/afterschool shifts, providing care in the individual’s home and the surrounding community in Zebulon, NC and nearby areas, with local travel required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
- Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
- Offer employment support and help plan and organize the individual’s schedule.
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
- Complete daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Entry-level experience; on-the-job training provided.
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
- Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn new technology.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
